Irwell Vale

At various times during the ELR Class 14s @ 50 gala a Parcels train was run on the Bury-Rawtenstall section. In addition to a mixed selection of parcel vans a couple of passenger coaches were in the consist. With the slopes of Holcombe Moor in the background, D9537 is seen powering through Irwell Vale heading back to Bury on the last Parcels of the day with D9539 bringing up the rear. Above the leading locomotive, Lumb viaduct on the long closed Stubbins-Accrington line is just visible, with scaffolding in place for repair work
