Glasson Dock

A view along the East Wall at Glasson Dock. Rails formerly ran along the line now covered by the sea defence wall and continued round to join those from the dock itself at the point on the far left of the picture where a building can be seen. That marks the site of the long demolished passenger station. See image 66272 for a map from that operational period. Ships still load and unload at this riverside quay. Picture on private land taken with kind permission of Port of Lancaster Commissioners.
