Marsden

The hourly Huddersfield to Manchester stopping service rolls in to the third platform at unstaffed Marsden, just near the summit of the climb to Standedge. The two main line platforms are to the left but 156440 is on the bi-directional loop line. To the right of the train is a building on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal (re-opened in 2001), which also climbs to the Standedge tunnels alongside the railway. See image 22347
