Wakefield Westgate
The section of the former south end station building at Wakefield Westgate that gave access onto the platform is to be retained and converted into an up side first class waiting room. A new back wall is seen under construction on 4 June. The south end of the platform is now like a remote outpost from the main station building, with first class East Coast passengers heading south having no seating and little protection against the weather compared to standard class passengers at the north end.
