Stratford Shed
Gresley B17 4-6-0 no 61672 West Ham United photographed in the sidings alongside Stratford Works. Built by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorn in 1937, the 4-6-0 had been withdrawn from Lowestoft shed in March 1960 and is here awaiting the cutter's torch, which was applied in Stratford scrapyard later that month. Standing behind the B17 is condenser fitted N2 0-6-2T no 69589, also withdrawn in March 1960 (from Kings Cross shed) and cut up here during April.
