Newton Heath MPD
The south side of Newton Heath MPD, as seen from the platform of Newton Heath & Moston Metrolink stop, formerly Dean Lane station. The sidings now occupied by Northern Sprinters once accommodated main line diesel locomotives See image 29691. This view looks towards Thorpes Bridge Junction and shows the freight line to Dean Lane waste transfer station with the original bullhead rail, and the new Metrolink electrified tram line becoming double track just beyond the bridge.
