Pickering
BR Class 9F 2-10-0 no 92214 Cock O' The North. NYMR's newest steam locomotive both in terms of its building, in 1959, and arrival at the NYMR in 2010. Had a very short career with BR having been built at the same time as many diesel and electric units, rescued from Barry scrap yard and restored at Butterley before going to the NYMR. Photographed on a sunny 5th September afternoon, approaching the platforms at Pickering with a train from Whitby.
