Macclesfield

Macclesfield was considered to be a very modern station when rebuilt in the 1960s see image 38999, but still has some pleasantly old fashioned features in 2012. The signal box is still operational, while the sand drag visible beyond it is the East end stub of the former secondary route to Manchester via Bollington, cut back to Rose Hill Marple in 1970.
