Railway navvies in modern incarnation: some 110 years after their predecessors had built the Waverley Route through Liddesdale, track recovery workers have the less heroic task of ripping up the railway at Three Bridges, near Scotch Dyke, in this shot thought to have been taken in 1971 or late 1970, looking north.
