Mirandela

Two ex-Yugoslavian metre gauge railbuses wait at the new Mirandela interchange station, which replaced the old station situated behind the camera See image 38021. The nearer vehicle is on the twice daily service for Tua, two hours away, which was withdrawn later in the year. Behind, a further railbus will go in the opposite direction, to Carvalhais on the old Braganca line. This isolated section survived until 2018 but was only a very short suburban line. The nine minute journey to Carvalhais included four intermediate stops and services were operated by just two railbuses.
