Remagen

Part of the remains of the Ludendorff Railway Bridge at Remagen on the Rhine south of Bonn, seen here in 1997. The last Rhine bridge standing on the western front when the Allies took it on 7/8 March 1945. The main span collapsed into the river ten days later.
