Duns

Not again! Derailment at Duns, with D181 off the road on 30th August 1965. The day was an English Bank Holiday and Tweedmouth no longer steamed a loco for the Duns freight on such occasions, although it turned out to be a false economy in this instance! As the derailment occurred at the east end of the run-round loop, the Gateshead crane could only deal with one end of the loco and the west end had to be got back on the rails using jacks and packing.
