Campbeltown

An extract from the 1899 map of Campbeltown showing the original terminus of the light railway, prior to the introduction of passenger services. At this time coal from the collieries between here and Machrihanish was probably the sole traffic. Later the railway was extended onto the quayside via reclaimed land on the foreshore.
