First ELR service of the day/year arrives at Rawtenstall running in over the level crossing past Rawtenstall West signalbox. There was a corresponding Rawtenstall East box that controlled the level crossing at the other end of the station but this was closed along with the Bacup line in December 1966. The 2-car Met Cam DMU was augmented by a Gloucester RC&W bubble car on this service. See image 32793
