Earlestown

The platforms on the west to south curve at Earlestown were closed for some time but one was reopened for a new, hourly, Liverpool Lime Street to Warrington Bank Quay service. Contrary to the destination blind 156488 is heading for Bank Quay in this view looking towards the south junction. The 156 squealed a little on the check railed curve, but this was nothing compared to the screeching Pacer that preceded it. This picture was taken standing behind the original station building See image 31357. Platforms 4 and 5 on the south to east curve are behind the trees on the left - image 31358.
