Earlestown

Earlestown was built in 1835 and apparently is the oldest railway station building in the world that has survived on an operational passenger station. 142003, on a Manchester Liverpool service, draws up alongside the very ornate platform canopy. Although the station is still staffed this building is not currently in use. Behind it is the platform reopened for use by Liverpool Warrington services See image 31359 making Earlestown a full triangle station again.
