Maudlands Viaduct

Maudland viaduct shows clear evidence that it was built, in red brick, to carry two tracks but the Blackpool line was later quadrupled by adding a blue brick extension on either side. The bridge still carries Blackpool trains See image 23385 over Water Lane in Preston but in the 1960s the tracks were reduced back to two.
