Crigglestone

The Royal Train being drawn out past the long closed Crigglestone West station by 47835 on 27 March 1992 after stabling overnight on the nearby former Horbury branch. The occasion was the visit by HM Queen Elizabeth to unveil a plaque to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Wakefield. The train then reversed to run to Wakefield Kirkgate station, where it reversed again to access Wakefield Westgate station via the now single line branch linking the former L&YR route to the former GNR route.
