Blackfriars
View north across the Thames towards Blackfriars, showing the piers of the old LC&DR bridge which are to have part of the redesigned Blackfriars station built on them. Blackfriars Underground station has been closed to allow the reconstruction work to be carried out and will reopen in September 2011. On completion the station will be able to accommodate 12-car trains and will have an additional entrance created allowing pedestrian access to the station from the south bank of the river.
