Horbury and Ossett

With that self important air that all diesel shunters seem to have when on the main line, Class 08 No. 08574 growls into Horbury cutting with five open wagons of sand. The station, closed in 1970, was by the bridge in the mist with Healey Mills yard just beyond. The line going off to the left went to Crigglestone and then Barnsley but closed in 1991. This is a former mystery picture and David Pesterfield identified the location but we also asked about the sand traffic? Was it a regular trip or a one off? We presumed it originated in Healey Mills yard and, with a 15mph shunter and open wagons, that it was not going far, but where...? See image 24519 for the answer with thanks to Bill Jamieson and Wyn Garnett, a former Healey Mills shunter.
