Trinity Junction

View south towards Trinity Junction in March 1986, shortly after the last of the track had been lifted. To the right is the trackbed of the original line to Canal Street (subsequently cut back to Scotland Street), while to the left is the later route linking with the ECML at Abbeyhill and Piershill Junctions (which still runs as far as Powderhall). The bridge remains once carried the Caledonian Leith branch over the junction, running right to left between Granton Road and Newhaven. All signs of the the railway at this point have now gone, with the demolition of stonework, removal of embankments and skilful land filling resulting in cycle paths/walkways crossing here today on the same level see image 26612.
