Easingwold

Terminus of the two mile railway from Alne that was never part of the grouping or nationalisation but hired its engines from the NER, LNER and BR. Easingwold opened in 1891 closing to passengers in 1948 and goods in 1957. Modern houses have been built on the site of the platforms and sidings. This impressive building appears in many old pictures of the station and has a plaque saying Old Station House but I am reliably assured it is actually the former station hotel.
