Gisburn

The platform edges and building recesses can just be seen in this picture of Gisburn looking towards Chatburn and Clitheroe with Gisburn tunnel just behind the photographer. The station closed in 1962. The old signal box still stands at the far end of the station but is now on private land and owned by Waddingtons timber merchants who occupy the goods yard. Although the lever frame has been removed the cabin itself is maintained by the company as a historic local building. (My thanks to John Pratt for additional local information). SD 826489
