Riccarton Junction

The end of the line for the Border Counties Railway, after completing its 50 mile journey north from Hexham, was this bay at Riccarton Junction. The old bay is hosting a brake van on 7 November 2007. A considerable amount of restoration work and track relaying has been carried out at this famous outpost, thanks to the efforts of the Friends of Riccarton Junction.
