Newcastle Tunnels and Queen Elizabeth II Bridge (Tyne and Wear Metro)

Introduction

This, the main new part of the Tyne and Wear Metro, travels in tunnels below Newcastle, over the River Tyne and below Gateshead. It links the former heavy rail lines to the north and east of Newcastle to the lines to the south east of Gateshead.
