Derwenthaugh Junction to Whickham Junction Deviation (North Eastern Railway)
Introduction
This is a re-alignment of the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway to the south of its original course. Most of the deviation remains open. Gateshead Metrocentre was opened on this route after the route via Scotswood closed to passengers.

This is a modern two platform station linked by a footbridge to the Metrocentre shopping centre. It is located to the north of the centre with coach parking and car parking nearby.
