Somerset and Dorset

Mostly Serene and Delightful; and mostly near the North end.

The viaduct has been cleared of vegetation and tarmacked, which certainly makes exploration easier. A Merchant Navy-hauled express sped across this viaduct in the opening shot of 'The Titfield Thunderbolt'. The camera then panned down to follow a rather more modest branch line train on the Camerton branch. 2/85

21/03/2008
Ken Strachan

Midford

Bath Branch (Somerset and Dorset Railway)

These overgrown steps down to the S&D platform speak volumes about lost glories.
