This short connecting line was once full of trains carrying coal and other locally originating freight. It was closed to passengers, then re-opened with an approximately hourly service. A tram service has been proposed, and would match the high density housing well; but would be incompatible with the frequent heavy freight (mostly Freightliners) which now uses the line.
