New Street No More

In May 2006 the famous view of Waverley station looking west from Regent Road changed forever with the demolition of the old bus depot in New Street. The depot was originally built by Scottish Motor Traction in the 1930s and housed 300 buses on two floors. Many further changes to the landscape are set to take place as the Waverley Valley development (also known as Caltongate) continues to make its presence felt in this part of the old town. The attached selection of photographs shows some of the changes which have taken place there over the course of the past 35 years.
