View southeast showing progress on the East London Line northern extension at Shoreditch on 15 September 2008. After crossing Shoreditch High Street on the new bridge, the line swings north over New Inn Yard to join the former route from Broad Street. [The old tube stock seen bottom right is standing on the Broad Street trackbed on the south side of Holywell Lane.] From here it will continue along what is mainly existing urban viaduct as far as Western Junction on the North London Line, from where it will run west to Highbury and Islington. [Interchange will be available there with the Victoria Line, Northern City Line and North London Line.]
