Work begins in earnest on the £400 million redevelopment of Kings Cross station this year. The 50 million passengers who will use Kings Cross station each year will benefit from an entirely restored, lighter and more attractive station.

387129 at Kings Cross on 17th October 2019. This was waiting to leave with, ostensibly, the 10.42 Great Northern service to King^s Lynn but no sooner had it departed than an announcement went up that the train would terminate at Cambridge and passengers for stations from there to King^s Lynn would have to change. A friend and I were travelling to Ely; no explanation was given and no ticket checks were made.
