Shed 47 collection grows

Date: 24/11/2007

The Shed 47 Railway Restoration Group recently took delivery of 2 additional industrial shunting locomotives, kindly donated by Babcock Support Services, Rosyth, where they had become surplus to requirements. The 2 Hunslet locomotives 9045/6 (MOD 250/1) will join Fowler diesel, works no 4210140 (Texaco No 1 ex Granton Harbour) and Andrew Barclay steam locomotive, works no AB2296 (NCB No 17 ex Bedlay Colliery) at the site. The Shed 47 railway restoration group was formed around 10 years ago and is based at the former Royal Naval supplies depot at Lathalmond, near Dunfermline, where restoration work is carried out on both locomotives and rolling stock. The existing workshop, running lines and sidings at the site are soon to be augmented by the addition of a turntable. Further information on the activities of the Shed 47 group is available on the group website at www.shed47.org
