Progress update hinted for hopes of station in Fife town [Fife Today]

News on hopes of a new station in a Fife town could be developed in the next few weeks, according to an MSP.

40141 heads a special Down freight on the 13th of July 1978. Freight facilities at Newburgh were withdrawn in October 1979, with the signal box, loop and sidings being abolished during October 1980. But the station building was to remain standing for another 36 years.
