New Ayr railway station plans could see part of Station Hotel bulldozed [Daily Record]

The Station Hotel in Ayr closed in 2013 but was not put up for sale until 2017. Here it is on 10 October 2017, awaiting developments (or development).

Barriers and scaffolding around Ayr's Station Hotel in January 2016. Built by the GSWR in 1866, the grade 2 listed building, which forms an integral part of Ayr station, closed in 2013, since when it has begun to show considerable signs of neglect. The current activity is the result of a dangerous buildings notice served on the current owners by South Ayrshire Council.

The empty Station Hotel basks in the early morning sunlight overlooking Ayr station on 10 November 2014. Unfortunately this shows up the sad state of the building. At least the pigeons don't seem to have found a way in yet.
