Plans to improve Lockerbie station parking go on display [Daily Record]

Passenger growth for the busy station on the West Coast Mainline has led to parking issues in the town.

Elevated view south towards Gretna from the 2008 footbridge at Lockerbie on 3 August 2011. Centre right is the south end of the infilled bay once occupied by the platforms of the Dumfries, Lochmaben and Lockerbie Railway, with its own entrance and overall roof. The line lost its passenger service in 1952 and closed completely in 1966. The roof was removed and the bay infilled in the 1970s see image [[2704]].
