The new Thanet Parkway station on the line between Canterbury West and Ramsgate in Kent is opening on Monday, 31st July 2023. I decided to make another of my First Day visits, like I did with Edinburgh's Newhaven trams extension back in June, and today (25th July) I bought my advance tickets from St. Pancras and back again at a bargain return fare, partly on HS1, of only £23.20 with my Senior Railcard. This might well be one of the first tickets, if not THE first, to be sold to this new station; I'm thinking of framing it and keeping it for posterity.
