One of Scotland's premier hotels is said to be close to changing hands in an £85 million deal. 'Twenty14' Holdings is reported to be in talks about selling the 120-year-old Caledonian Waldorf Astoria at the west end of Princes Street, Edinburgh.

On the south side of Rutland Street the former entrance to Edinburgh's Princes Street station still stands, complete with gates, in April 2009. The rear of the Caledonian Hotel still looks over the area once occupied by the station concourse, although today's view is over a car park to the buildings of Edinburgh's financial district.

Edinburgh's impressive Caledonian Hotel at the east end of Princes Street, looking very festive and nicely decorated on 23rd December 2017. I wonder how many people now realise that there was a very substantial railway station behind the hotel.
