The temporary road and bridge - constructed to minimise disruption during the demolition of the Bawbee bridge in Leven - is now open to traffic. The bridge opened at circa 13.30, (Friday May 5) slightly earlier than anticipated and will be in place throughout the work to minimise traffic disruption in the Fife town. [The bridge crosses the river at roughly the location of the earlier bridge which carried the Wemyss and Buckhaven Railway's extension from Buckhaven to Leven, the piers of which can be seen to its left. The later bridge built with Kirkland yard during a major expansion of lines is on the right, now disused. The platform works for the new station are bottom right. -RS]
