Scene on the up side of St Margarets shed, looking south across the ECML towards London Road on a Saturday morning in September 1958. Standing around the turntable is a North British 0-4-0 DH shunter, no D2723 of 1957, alongside a Reid ex-NBR N15 0-6-2T no 69152 of 1910. Even on a fine day it is questionable how much of a view was ever enjoyed by the nearby residents of London Road at that time, given the 200+ steam locomotives to whom St Margarets was home during much of the 1950s.
