Edinburgh to Fife ferries 'could be like New York service' as plans back on agenda [Edinburgh Live]

Plans to connect Edinburgh with Fife via ferry could be tabled as part of a new public transport plan that will look to bring neighbouring local authorities in closer contact with the capital.

A look 'ashore' along Granton Middle Pier where the wooden station was situated to the right of the newer brick building. Nowadays this is more of a quay than a pier as the West Harbour has been filled in here. The streets on the right are called 'Hesperus' - an odd choice of ship as thanks to Longfellow it is surely more famous as a wreck.
