Long distance shot of one of the landslip work sites just north of Montfode Siding on the Largs line, showing Networks Rail's temporary access road laid across a field adjacent to the A78. The access to the trackbed here is very steep and, not visible in the shot, there is a rope handrail down the left hand side which workers used when descending from track level to field. 14th February 2021

On a wet and dismal February Saturday morning, DB 66206 is stationary at Montfode Fuel Depot Sidings with a materials train in connection with the ongoing landslip works at various sites on the Largs line. There are two stop markers on the track just in front of the locomotive. A second train hauled by Freightliner 66544 appeared at the rear, uncoupled from its own train and moved forward to couple to the first train. These are the first rail movements on the bi-directional electrified line north of Ardrossan since 5th February 2021.
