Commuter groups angry at train 'cuts' from North West [BBC News]

Date: 24/08/2015

It is 'crazy' that 17 electric trains will be shifted from routes in Greater Manchester to the Midlands, a rail passenger group has said. TravelWatch NorthWest said it was 'aghast' at the loss of 17 electric trains from three routes from April. Some Manchester services to and from Cheshire and Derbyshire will be hit. Porterbrook, which leases carriages to operators, said the move would provide better value for money, and promised to offer more trains in northern England. [From Mark Bartlett]
