Date: 13/08/2015

Crossrail has released a set of images showing its final tunnel boring machine (TBM), Victoria, being dismantled at Farringdon. The TBMs trailer is being returned to manufacturer Herrenknecht to be reused while the cutter head will be chopped into pieces and hauled out of the Stepney Green shaft. Roger Mears, Crossrail Eastern Tunnels project manager, said: Crossrails last tunnelling machine, Victoria, has finished her journey and is being dismantled and recycled. Thanks to the quality of these marvellous machines and skill of the teams who operated them, Crossrails tunnels are now complete, ready for the complex task of fitting out the railway.
