Sleeper service on track for upgrade [Lochaber News]

Date: 24/01/2013

PLANS have been unveiled to overhaul the Caledonian Sleeper service which links Fort William with central London. Transport Scotland, the national transport agency, has announced that private bidders to run the Sleeper from 2015 will be asked to re-brand the historic cross-border service “emblematic of Scotland” and a “destination in itself”. Following a transport review in 2011, there were predictions that the service might not be able to continue beyond 2014.
