Swindon and Cricklade Railway opens new track extension [BBC News]

The Swindon and Cricklade Railway in Wiltshire has opened a newly-built section of track after several months of construction. The half-mile extension has meant an increase of the total length of useable track to two-and-a-quarter miles.

After a fair few trials and tribulations, the Swindon & Cricklade Railway finally opened their temporary terminus, known as Taw Valley Halt, on the north west outskirts of Swindon. GWR 5521 is seen at work on clearance and safety checks at Taw Valley Halt before the first passenger trains.
