Trains suspended between Glasgow and Paisley [STV News]

All train services between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour have been suspended due to a signalling problem at Cardonald.

A class 26 with two polybulk wagons runs west at Cardonald in 1987. The railway had four tracks here but was reduced to two in preparation for electrification in the 1960s. A third track is still planned despite cancellation of the Glasgow Airport Rail Link. The overheads have been replaced in preparation for the third track - perhaps this bridge is not wide enough to take two tracks and catenary.
