Tornado to mark 40 years of steam [Northern Echo]

THE nation’s newest locomotive will haul a special train to mark the 40th anniversary of the return of steam to the main line railway. The Darlington-built Tornado will haul the train during part of the anniversary in October taking passengers from Birmingham to Paddington Station, London.

6024 King Edward I stands at the platform at Exeter St Davids on 26 June with the 'Steam Dreams' Cornish Riviera Express.  Sadly 6024 did not lead the train into Exeter but was piloted by D1015 Western Champion.
