TransPennine rail union strike begins [BBC News]

The first of two 24-hour strikes on First TransPennine Express (FTPE) trains has started after pay talks between unions and bosses broke down. The strike, by members of the Aslef union, started at 00:01 BST on Wednesday and is expected to cause disruption across the north of England.[From Mark Bartlett]
