Greenburn Branch receives funding

A closed and lifted line from New Cumnock to Greenhead is to be re-instated. The route was surveyed earlier this year. Kier Minerals have been awarded £3.9M to help build the 3.5km line which will leave the Knockshinnoch branch near New Cumnock and run west to Greenburn where there are opencast coalmines.
