Transport Minister visits Larkhall station site

Date: 28/03/2003

Iain Gray visited the site of the former Larkhall Central station (closed to passengers 4/10/1965, freight 4/11/1968, site and platforms still intact). £16M has been granted from the Integrated Transport Fund to will provide a half hourly service on the Larkhall to Milngavie line between Larkhall and Dalmuir, via Hamilton, Glasgow and Partick. Stations are proposed at Merryton and Chatelherault (both between Hamilton and Larkhall) and Dawsholm on a spur to be reopened between Anniesland and Maryhill Park.
